Clinton keeps stay-the-course strategy on foundation, emails

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton pauses as she speaks at a campaign event at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno Nev. Thursday Aug. 25 2016

USA presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has dubbed her rival Donald Trump's campaign as one that will "make America hate again", while he in turn labelled her as a racist whose family foundation was a "criminal enterprise".

Clinton delivered her August 25 diatribe against the shadowy "Alt-Right" movement - a collection of misfits and powerless screechers on the far right - blaming them for the country's ills, essentially saying they were out to get her, and insisting that GOP nominee Donald Trump is fanning their flames of racist hate.

"If Trump was doing the same thing Clinton was doing, he'd be in a lot more trouble", said one young voter, while another added "it'd definitely be thrown against him a lot more".

Questions about Clinton's health have also been pushed by Trump supporters and surrogates.

The Hillary Clinton email controversy will extend throughout her presidential campaign plus an Alabama senator is calling for the FBI to launch a full investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

Trump senior communications adviser Jason Miller said in a statement that the billionaire businessman's "positive message of economic opportunity is working and we see the national and battleground state polls all moving in the right direction". She replied, "I am sure", and mentioned her strong understanding about the foundation's work. "I don't know", Spicer said. "This kind of unraveling has to be done with a scalpel so that we just do not hurt people, and do not interrupt the very good work that's being done", she said.

"It is outrageous to misrepresent Secretary Clinton's basis for meeting with these individuals", spokesman Brian Fallon said.

On Friday, Hillary Clinton promised to put in place additional safeguards to prevent conflicts of interest with the foundation should she win the White House.

Her calendars and emails released as recently as this week describe scores of contacts she and her top aides had with foundation donors.

Tim Kaine is the only candidate with a public event on his schedule today when he holds a voter registration event and a tour of small businesses in Tallahassee, Florida.

When asked to elaborate on the allegation, he said Clinton's policies "are bigoted because she knows they're not going to work". She told the editorial board of The Washington Post Thursday that more and more Republican officials have "landed in Hillary's camp ... as the consensus grows that she is the vehicle for the shared Republican and Democratic agenda".

As the Clinton Foundation comes under additional scrutiny, Donald Trump's campaign is touting an Associated Press report showing that she met with 85 foundations donors from the private sector while serving as Secretary of State. Bill Clinton said Wednesday that the foundation has begun looking for partners to take over some of its work in preparation for that outcome.

"When someone shows you who they are", Meeks said, "believe them the first time".

At an election rally in New Hampshire Thursday night, Trump said such tricks are the oldest play in the Democratic playbook.
