Trump Condemns Clinton's 'Deplorables' Label on His Backers

While she offered remorse for her comments, Clinton also said it was "deplorable" that Trump has built his campaign "largely on prejudice and paranoia" and has "given a national platform to hateful views and voices".

Trump supporters and surrogates have called Clinton's comments "desperate" and chided her for supposedly insulting a group of voters.

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign lambasted Clinton's remark well into Saturday, calling it the moment she "ripped off her mask and revealed her true contempt for everyday Americans".

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said on Friday that half the supporters of her Republican rival Donald Trump belonged in a "basket of deplorables" of people who were "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic". She has made similar comments recently, including on an Israeli television station. In an interview with Israeli TV this week, Clinton said that Trump supporters are, "what I call the deplorables; you know, the racists and the, you know, the haters, and the people who are drawn because they think somehow he's going to restore an America that no longer exists".

Trump retweeted the almost four year old tweet in response to Clinton's comment at a fundraiser Friday night saying "half" his supporters fit into a "basket of deplorables". "So I won't stop calling out bigotry and racist rhetoric in this campaign", she said.

Clinton's campaign is happy to have a debate about its belief that Trump's movement is animated by racism, Democrats close to the campaign said Saturday. Tim Kaine (D-VA), said that Clinton did not need to apologize for her comments. "And she wouldn't be prosecuted".

Meanwhile, Trump appears to have carved out a wider path to the White House as a number of states, including Florida and OH, are no longer considered likely wins for Clinton, according to the latest Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation project, released yesterday.

Wilshere chose Bournemouth due to Howe
Sky Bet have released some Jack Wilshere specials after the midfielder's loan move from Arsenal to Bournemouth was completed. The move was one of the biggest stories on transfer deadline day, mainly due to the profile of the 24 year old midfielder.

Clinton reiterated that she does not think putting American ground troops in Syria to hold territory, to become occupiers, to try to govern people is at all the right strategy.

Speaking at an evening fundraiser in NY, the former U.S. secretary of state said Trump had given voice to hateful rhetoric from such individuals through his behaviour as a candidate for the White House. "Now, some of those folks - they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America", said Clinton, who was the country's top diplomat during President Barack Obama's first term.

Her comments were rebuked by Mr Trump's team, with campaign manager Kellyanne Conway saying the comments were "slander" and had insulted to millions of Americans.

But Jamal Simmons, a Democratic consultant, said the remarks probably would not wrest voters from Clinton. Obama was criticized for saying small-town voters "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations".

Donald Trump is planning to mark the 15th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks by attending the official commemoration at ground zero. The event drew a sold-out crowd of 1000, her campaign said.

Trump noted that Schlafly rooted for the underdog, and "the idea that so-called little people, or the little person that she loved so much, could beat the system - often times, the rigged system".

"It's phony strength to not know what you're talking about, and to make outrageous statements that will actually make our job harder, no matter how in the moment it sounds", the former NY senator and Democratic presidential candidate told CNN in an interview aired Sunday, the 15th anniversary of the attacks on NY and Washington.
