Refugee ban and travel block another bad move in American history

Refugee ban and travel block another bad move in American history

President Trump states, "To be clear, this is not a Muslim ban, as the media is falsely reporting".

It didn't take long.

During his campaign, and in the dawn of his presidency, Trump's disregard for the founding values of tolerance and acceptance enshrined in the minds of the founding fathers of the United States seemed nearly baffling at first glance, and have grown increasingly unsafe with each passing day.

In the span of 40 minutes Saturday morning, President Donald Trump sent four tweets to his 23 million followers, most of which were focused on defending his executive order temporarily barring travelers from seven Muslim countries from entering the U.S.

So keep them out, that's what you said during the campaign and by gosh you are doing it. But that is exactly what he seems to have done.

The Organisation of Islamic Co-operation says the order will "only serve to embolden the radical narratives of extremists" and fuel terrorism.

The Executive Order does not apply to foreign nationals traveling to the US from the seven countries who are traveling on diplomatic visas, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) visas, C-2 visas for travel to the United Nations, and those under G-1, G-2, G-3 and G-4 visas.

Iranians, many of whom are legal residents in the USA, are especially aggrieved. The measure, which Trump says is aimed at protecting the country from terrorist attacks, has drawn protests and legal challenges. This is to cut 110,000 refugees promised by Obama to maximum 50,000 desired by Trump. Why should a non-Muslim and Israel-friendly nation such as USA trusts Muslim refugees or migrants when a Muslim kingdom Kuwait doesn't believe their own Muslim brothers to begin with?

They have turned to Trump to lead them. In one of its first articles about the executive order, CNN's headline screamed: "134,000,000 People Banned from U.S".

White House says only 109 people out of approximately 325,000 passengers who arrived in the U.S. on January 29 were detained for questioning before being let in. Clearly, this is about homeland security, not religious discrimination. Although the order itself does not mention any specific religion, Trump said in a television interview that he wanted to give priority to Christians. "Okay, you can do it your way in a good way, but if you include everybody than you could do great things", he adds. The Daily Mail had carried a front-page headline calling the judges in that case, who ruled that Parliament must vote to start the process of leaving the EU, "Enemies of the People". The countries included in the executive order are predominantly Muslim.

Rience Priebus, white house chief of staff, spoke of that discretion stating, "green card holders going forward, it doesn't affect them". Would that be consistent with belief in freedom of thought? Emily Hecht-McGowan, chief policy officer for the Family Equality Council, said that she was "anticipating more to come", noting that some draft documents have been circulating, suggesting plans for a more sweeping order.

Trump also offered some insight into his plans to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement, saying that his commerce secretary will be involved in the talks and that his administration will move as quickly as possible.

These numbers are quite different from other poll results, which reveal that most American people do not favor the way Trump is functioning as a president.

Chelsea held by Liverpool but rivals fail to profit
After all top four teams including Tottenham and Arsenal dropping points, Chelsea remain at the top of the table with 56 points. Jurgen Klopp has warned that Liverpool can not expect the returning Sadio Mane to end the worst run of his reign on his own.
