It's time for the final push against Betsy DeVos

Also in the queue for confirmation votes after DeVos and Sessions are Office of Management and Budget nominee Mick Mulvaney, Health and Human Services nominee Tom Price, and EPA administrator nominee Scott Pruitt.

The event on Monday isn't actually a filibuster. Republican Sens. Pat Toomey (Pa.), John Hoeven (N.D.), Dean Heller (Nev.) and Deb Fischer (Neb.) - each considered potential swing votes - have announced their support for DeVos.

The final vote is now expected to come down in a 50-50 tie, with two Republican senators joining Democrats and Independents in the Senate in voting no on DeVos' confirmation.

Senate Democrats are now planing an all-night protest of DeVos ahead of Tuesday's scheduled confirmation vote.

The confirmation vote on DeVos' nomination is scheduled for Tuesday.

DeVos moved closer toward a confirmation as the education secretary on Friday.

There is a unified Democratic front against some of the last of President Donald J. Trump's cabinet posts, starting with education secretary nominee Betsy DeVos.

Nintendo President Responds To Weak Nintendo Switch Launch Lineup Complaint
The company said it expects the yen to trade at 110 yen per dollar, compared with a previous outlook for 100 yen. Nintendo shares, which rose 46 percent in 2016, fell 1.9 percent on Tuesday to close at 23,120 yen in Tokyo.

Senate Democrats have been holding a round-the-clock "talk-a-thon" as they try to get one more Republican to break ranks and vote against DeVos.

If they're looking to Oklahoma for that vote, they won't have any luck. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski said they would not vote for DeVos.

A wealthy philanthropist from Michigan, DeVos is known as a strong proponent of school choice and vouchers that would allow public money to be spent to send children to private schools.

Sullivan said he hopes that DeVos will pay attention to remote rural schools like those in his home state, where "there is no choice at all".

If you like public education, basic competency, or ethics, Betsy DeVos is a awful choice.

"Under her leadership we will reform the United States education system and break the bureaucracy that is holding our children back so that we can deliver world-class education and school choice to all families", Trump said.

"I think there are a couple of folks still thinking about it", Stabenow said.
