The controversial Super Bowl ad about 'the wall' at Mexican border

The controversial Super Bowl ad about 'the wall' at Mexican border

A Pennsylvania company's first-ever Super Bowl advertisement scheduled to run right before Sunday's halftime show isn't what was originally planned.

Then there was this 84 Lumber commercial, which featured a Mexican mother and daughter attempting to cross the border in search of the American Dream-only to encounter a giant wall. And today during the big game, Coca-Cola joined the beer company in their celebration of the U.S.as a nation of immigrants.

Lumber 84's president Maggie Hardy Magerko has been outspoken in the past about Trump's immigration ban and border wall.

In response, 84 Lumber posted the full version of the commercial on Journey84.com.

While some on social media praised the company for taking a stand on immigration, others took to Twitter to say that they would boycott the supplier. 84 Lumber's ad was deliberately political - with its visualization of President Donald Trump's proposed wall along the Mexican border - though Budweiser claimed they weren't deliberately making a political statement. But once Magerko's personal political views were revealed, the company suddenly managed to piss off people on both sides of the immigration debate. "Of course we were disappointed, but ultimately, it's their network and their decision", Smiley told The Post.

Nielsen also announced that the telecast of Super Bowl LI drew an average audience of 111.3 million viewers, and an average of 53.6 million homes, and delivered a preliminary 45.3 USA household rating. The full ad, which apeared on the company's website, ends with the mother crying when she and her daughter reach the U.S. -Mexico border and they encounter a border wall. "Our story is a symbolic celebration of a journey that ends with becoming legal USA citizens". The commercial ends with a banner that reads, "The will to succeed it always welcome here".

UC Berkeley Chancellor Blasts Violence Over Yiannopoulos Speech
Campus spokesperson Dan Mogulof told reporters that the behavior of the protesters marks a shameful moment for UC-Berkeley. Yiannopoulos is a vocal Trump backer who has been called a racist and misogynist, among other criticisms.

84 Lumber's Super Bowl ad was meant to make a "patriotic" statement that portrayed the U.S.as a "great land of opportunity".

"I think that's what makes our country great", Radick said.

Brit viewers would have missed them so here are the best commercials that aired in the US.

Broadcaster Fox reportedly charged advertisers upwards of $5 million for a 30-second spot in the Super Bowl this year.

"But we respect people having their opinions and that's OK".

Todd Meyer, manager of the Raleigh store who's been with the company since 1999, said a few people have called about the commercial and he is getting "good and bad comments".
