Letter to the Editor: Regarding Health Insurance

I am working with nonpartisan community groups to schedule a town hall in Knoxville during the February 20-25 Senate recess, so that Alexander or a representative from his office can attend.

I am a family nurse practitioner who has provided primary care to uninsured individuals both before and after the introduction of the Affordable Care Act.

"I'm fighting congress for my life", Matt Skeens said.

But now, he said he's facing a new battle.

State Representative, Emanuel Chris Welch, D-Hillside, said of the repeal, "Repealing of the Affordable Care Act would be devastating on the State of IL".

When asked about the effects of repeal, 39% were not aware that it could lead many people to lose Medicaid or subsidized exchange coverage.

We're prepared to make it better, but we are not prepared to have our Republican colleagues eliminate the protections given to all Americans by the Affordable Care Act without a replacement.

Trump Today: The president wants an extra 'f' in Nafta
The surpluses in services reduced the overall USA trade deficit with its NAFTA partners to $39.2 billion in 2015, Lu reports . Bilateral trade amounts to half a trillion dollars per year, with 80 percent of Mexican exports going to the United States.

"Part of the election this past year was about the Affordable Care Act". Here's a look at those elements and how they could impact you. "It's raised their rates, it's raised their co-pays".

"We think it's time to do something, and that's to get rid of this law", Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, told reporters at an event sponsored by the conservative Heritage Foundation.

Griffith says there are some aspects of the ACA that he agrees with. One of the key provisions of the ACA, which you supported in your recent letter to me, is that insurers are not permitted to discriminate against individuals with pre-existing conditions.

"If we can get something more aggressive, then great", he said.

Let's work together to make improvements rather than destroying a system that has provided improved health care for all Americans, especially the most vulnerable among us.

Griffith says he will gladly listen to what demonstrators have to say. The threat of a repeal is also causing, she said, uncertainty for health care providers, who may decide to hold off on investments in innovations now funded by the Affordable Care Act. NY Times reports that the insurers are uncertain about the move ahead and are threatening to exit the Affordable Care Act unless Trump and the Congress are more transparent about their intentions.

Demonstrators' next stop is in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Saturday.
