Flynn right to resign after Russian Federation revelations

But it was not known what the Trump administration did.

In 2015, Flynn was paid to attend a gala dinner for Russia Today, a Kremlin-backed television station, and sat next to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the event.

Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Brent Scrowcroft and Condoleezza Rice have helped shape their respective presidents' foreign policies.

"The national security adviser of all the people that work with and for the President has to be absolutely trustworthy and truthful and apparently he wasn't and he paid the price for that". "But they recognize that they campaign with one assessment of reality, and now have to take a look at the rest of the information that's only available once they take office".

"I don't know Putin, have no deals in Russian Federation, and the haters are going insane", Trump tweeted on February 7.

"Watergate is the biggest political scandal of my lifetime, until maybe now", former CBS news anchor Dan Rather said in a Facebook post on Tuesday. I think it makes no sense. "Just how that will fit with the style of the Twitterer-in-Chief, I don't know".

Ed Schultz: It is important to point out that President Obama was a sitting United States senator, who was on foreign relations at that time and that gave candidate Obama an opportunity and basically a cover to go out and circumvent the Logan Law and have contact with foreign leaders to his campaign's advantage.

House minority leader Nancy Pelosi demanded on Friday Donald Trump's national security adviser, Lt Gen Michael Flynn, be suspended and lose his intelligence clearance until an FBI investigation into his actions is concluded.

Schumer aimed to get his colleagues on the same page following a fresh report from The New York Times that a number of Trump campaign aides spoke frequently with Russian intelligence operatives during the campaign.

The good news is that facts, intelligence gathering, and solid reporting still matter.

The announcement is a stark departure from days of non-committal statements made by Trump spokespersons amid controversy over Flynn's contacts with Russian officials. But investigations are ongoing. That includes an instance as recently as Tuesday, and one by President Trump.

In August, Trump's then-campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, resigned after reports of his shadowy dealings with moneyed interests in Russian Federation and Ukraine. They demanded that all committee investigations related to allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 election and contacts with Trump surrogates be bipartisan, comprehensive, and "committed to making their findings as public as possible".

Trump and his team have adamantly denied there were any interactions with Russian officials. But the real question is the age-old puzzle about corruption in the White House: "What did the president know and when did he know it?".

"It's a criminal act and it's been going on for a long time", Trump said, acknowledging other presidents' complaints about leaks to reporters but adding that he felt especially harshly targeted.
