The Bachelor recap: Nanny Raquel is a star

Nick Viall is down to his final four in season 21 of The Bachelor, but it's tough to get too excited considering the end result is so obvious. Seeing her like this is enough for Jim to warm up to Nick over a 15-year-old single malt scotch, as they admittedly have a taste for the finer things in life.

Editor's note: Waukesha native Nick Viall is searching for love during his fourth appearance on a "Bachelor"-franchise show".

They clean up and head to the folks' house, where her dad offers a hopeful update on his lung cancer. He said he hoped going to church would be something he and Rachel could do together, not that expressing faith is important to him. He tells this to Vanessa whose excitement turns to indignation when she learns that Nick asked EVERY father the proposal question.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Nick's initial deer-in-the-headlights look makes me cackle with delight.

Those fans hoping against hope that Corinne will not be The Bachelor victor may be encouraged by Vanessa's and Raven's dates. I honestly suspected "The Twins" Haley and Emily Ferguson, who were his resident BFFs on Bachelor in Paradise, would show up much earlier on to give the Bachelor some advice. The episode kicked off with a visit to Hoxie, Arkansas, where he shared a special moment with Raven, who learned that her father was cancer-free.

This week was never about Corinne, though-it was about Nanny Raquel, and man does she deliver. But she has to go home sometime if she's our next leading lady, and this could be it.

Speaking of Vanessa, in Montreal, she took him to meet her special-needs students in a touching and humbling hometown date experience. But after the tears, when it appears he's won them over, Nick faces Vanessa's dad who takes questioning to a whole new level.

DeMarcus Cousins traded to Pelicans for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, two picks
What better way to accelerate the future than allowing two franchise big men to exponentiate their multidimensional talent? The only saving grace for this trade is that the Kings get a pair of draft picks in what should be a deep draft.

At her dad's, Vanessa realized she had more questions than answers, and he grilled Nick on comparing his daughter to the other three. Raven takes Nick to a grain bin, while they are climbing it - a local cop shows up. She is instead the nest bachelorette. Church is a huge part of her life. Nick, wisely, gets Racquel's approval first before asking Corinne's dad for her hand in marriage. Hey, when you've got Corinne Olympios on your season, ANYTHING goes.

After all, The Bachelor's 21st season hasn't even aired Lindsay's hometown date with Viall in Dallas, TX, yet.

"Kevin Can Wait" (8 p.m., CBS): When Donna's cousin, Irene (Claire Coffee), comes to visit with her chatty husband, Stuart (Alexander Chaplin), Kevin concocts an elaborate plan to avoid spending time with them by forming a neighborhood watch group with his buddies, including his neighbor, Rootger. Most troubling, they hadn't had many real conversations about their future or living in separate countries. After a night of Greek food and a lot of booze, Nick says his goodbyes and Corinne walks him to his auto.

With Nick unsure what to do, and three women (Corinne excluded) second guessing what what they should've said, a knock on the door.

When Nick met Vanessa's father, he was rather confused by the fact that Nick was asking for his blessing to marry his daughter - even though Nick admitted he'd done the same with the other dads.

In other words, the earlier ABC reveals the next Bachelorette, the more time they have to cast the right men - a solid group of suitors who are truly invested in finding love, particularly with Lindsay this season.
