Wkts in 9 Balls, India's Batting Collapse on Day 4

INDvAUS 2nd Test Ravindra Jadeja bags 6 as India shoot-out Australia start strong in 2nd innings

Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane led the Indian batting defence on Monday with a 93-run stand for the fifth wicket, giving the hosts a 126-run lead in the second test against Australia at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here.

The Australian tail could only add 39 runs in the morning session as India bowled them out for 276 giving the tourists a big 87 run first innings lead. Probably once we have some runs on the board. With backs to the wall, Virat Kohli and Co. had to put up a monumental effort to claw back into the match.

Josh Hazlewood said the wicket might be becoming easier to bat on.

"We all were bit surprised by the call", Bangar said.

Pace spearheads Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, who finished the innings with career-best figures of 6-67, combined to take four wickets in nine balls to derail India's hopes of setting a mammoth fourth-innings run chase for the visitors. We kept on losing the wickets. That was just the stroke of luck Pujara needed, playing with a lot more solidity in defence and nimbleness in footwork from there on.

"We use it in Australia and it can be the difference between not out and out", said Hazlewood. Even a target of 150 in the fourth innings can give the opposition jitters and Australia are to bat last with the cracks widening with monotonous regularity.

General Motors Sells Opel, Vauxhall to PSA for $2.3 Billion
Labour MP Gavin Shuker, whose Luton constituency covers Vauxhall's Luton plant, said: "Glad to see the uncertainty over the PSA/GM deal is now over".

The Indians showed plenty of intent with Ravichandran Ashwin picking up opener David Warner early in the day.

A frustrating 16-run partnership followed for India, though, as Wriddhiman Saha (20 not out) and Ishant Sharma (6) combined for some crucial runs. For once, the Australian bowlers looked barren and clueless. The ball stayed low, and there was very little he could do. Spinners did very well. In a way it was victory for us. However, the southpaw's technique wasn't anything like a No. 5, Hazlewood hitting his pads twice from round the wicket and then finally breaching it to bowl him. "When Jadeja was bowling there wasn't enough help from the centre of the wicket. We will think of what we could have done better but overall I feel we have bowled well". Our bowlers have bowled every well. Can India repeat 2001 Kolkata Test?

Two days on, Australia have the upper hand again in their second Test against India here but India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara feels they are still in the game. I think there is nothing wrong with the Indian batting line-up and we are known to play spinners well.

Jadeja enjoys an impressive record vs Australia - his tally being 35 at 17.74 runs apiece at a strike rate of 46.6 in six Tests. For the first time in the Test match no wicket fell in the session.

In came Karun Nair and he spent no time walking back to the hut.
