British Police Reveal More Details of Parliament Attacker

An attacker stepped out of the vehicle and stabbed a police officer before he was shot by police.

He was born Adrian Russell Ajao in Dartford, Kent, and brought up by a single mother in Rye, East Sussex, before converting to Islam, sources told The Times.

Although police said they were confident that Masood was the sole attacker on Wednesday, counter-terrorism detectives are investigating whether he was part of a wider conspiracy.

Three other innocent victims - Kurt Cochran, Aysha Frade and Leslie Rhodes - have died following the attack, while many more were injured. While at present it is unclear exactly what happened, a London-based journalist said shots were fired and that journalists were confined to the press gallery in the parliamentary building.

Australian woman Patricia Neis-Beer was also injured in the attack.

"A junior doctor who works at St Thomas" Hospital confirmed another fatality, a woman who was a victim incident on Westminster Bridge, according to Sky News. Prime Minister Theresa May later said the attacker was British-born and was known to authorities.

Those included grievous bodily harm, weapons possessions and public order offences.

Seven people were arrested in armed raids early Thursday, including in London and second city Birmingham. He had not been the subject of any current police investigations, BBC reported.

In London, Parliament's session began with a minute of silence Thursday.

The London Eye tourist attraction was also locked down.

Also in London at the time of the terrorist attack was a Whangarei woman and her friend who had made a decision to visit he capital city while the rest of her family went elsewhere.

In Washington, the White House said President Donald Trump spoke with Prime Minister May and was briefed on the attack. But let me make it clear today, as I have had cause to do before: "Any attempt to defeat those values through violence and terror is doomed to failure". The streets of Westminster are ingrained with the spirit of freedom.

Facebook has activated its safety check feature.

"We are all locked in the chamber in the House of Commons, there are 400-odd MPs here and we can not leave", Mr Vaz told NDTV. There is a level of mistrust and suspicion of police service. The assailant was given first aid and carried conscious to an ambulance.
