Avery Bradley giving Celtics big lift

Former Washington Huskies PG Isaiah Thomas Lives On The Edge

If the Boston-Washington series goes seven, the victor meets the Cavaliers on Wednesday night. Being back home should help them, but the Celtics will be ready to end the series.

Behind Bradley the C's jumped out to an early double-digit lead and never relinquished it. Anthony Davis came into the National Basketball Association known primarily as a shot-blocker, he's led the league in blocks twice and finished second in blocks this season to go along with scoring 28.0 points per game, yet he's not always named among the league's top two-way players. Thomas feels his team is ready to take the next step.

Yet Bradley was unbelievable offensively Wednesday night, making 10-of-13 shots for 25 points in the first half alone. It can prop up a player for time spent on the floor in successful lineups that have little to do with him. The half ended with Boston leading, 67-51. The Celtics came out inspired on defense, and Thomas's backcourt mate, Avery Bradley, scored at will early in the game.

With Boston down 4-2, Horford pulled down a rebound that could have gone to Wizards center Marcin Gortat.

Game seven would be in Boston on Monday. Beantown sealed the deal in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter and went on an 11-0 run.

Conversely, the Celtics are on just an 8-7 SU run in road games that immediately follow a SU win at TD Garden, but remain -360 favorites on the series prices ahead of Friday's clash.

Durant scores 38 points, Warriors beat Jazz to take 3-0 lead
He kept the Warriors going even as the Jazz pulled ahead late in the first half and led by nine points in the third quarter. Whether on the fast break or in half court sets, however, Golden State's big guns have still been getting good looks.

This result would've been more understandable in the previous round, when the Wizards went to Atlanta for Game 6. Avery Bradley did the heavy scoring lifting, going off for 14 of his playoff career-high 29 points in the first quarter. Isaiah Thomas only had 18 tonight, but he set the tone in the first quarter, dishing out five assists and driving straight into the teeth of the Washington defense. John Wall scored 21 points but had just four assists, Bradley Beal scored just 16 points while Otto Porter Jr. and Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in with 13 points each but no other players finished in double figures. He notched a playoff career high by halftime (25 points), hitting 10 of 13 shots, including 4 of 5 three-pointers.

QuotesWashington Wizards head coach Scott Brooks looks on from the sidelines. "Coach made great adjustments, and we took what was off the white board and put it on the court, and we've just got to do that on Friday", added Thomas.

Said Bradley: "Everyone was prepared and that is what it's all about. Whoever has been the most physical team has won every game." .

In Boston's three wins Bradley has constantly crowded Wall, tormenting him with an assortment of stabs and pokes at the ball, while also cutting off his driving lanes.

This much we know: Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas was caught threatening someone on social media; a few days later, he was fined $25,000 (S$35,263) by the National Basketball Association for "directing inappropriate language toward a fan".
