Putin says Russian Federation meddling furor is 'nonsense'

Speaking at a news conference alongside Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, Putin quipped that Lavrov was remiss for not passing on what he made clear he believed were non-existent secrets.

Putin on Wednesday joked that his Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov "hasn't shared those secrets with us".

Two Israeli intelligence officials confirmed to BuzzFeed News Tuesday that Israel had shared specific intelligence with the USA regarding ISIS plots to smuggle explosive laptops onto planes, and that it appeared that that intelligence had been shared with Russian Federation without prior coordination. "It was very bad of him". His meeting with Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak came a day after Trump fired FBI director James Comey, the man leading an investigation into contentious links between members of the President's campaign team and Russia.

A Kremlin aide, Yuri Ushakov, later told reporters that Moscow had in its possession a written record of the conversation, not an audio recording.

President Trump, meanwhile, is embroiled in other controversies beyond the potential release of the transcript of the meeting with Russian officials in the White House.

"I wouldn't put much credibility on what Putin's notes are", Sen. "The relations between the Israeli intelligence community and the other communities of the USA are very intimate".

"I don't talk to murderous dictators like Vladimir Putin, so Putin's word to me doesn't mean a whole lot", Kinzinger said on CNN. The Flynn investigation was part of a broader investigation into Russian interference in last year's presidential election.

"It was nothing that you would not know from open-source reporting", National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said on Tuesday.

In Washington, Republican and Democratic lawmakers said they wanted to see the Comey memo.

He added: "The enemy can very easily identify and recognize where the information came from and start searching for collaborators".

Complaining about what he said were signs of "political schizophrenia" in the United States, Putin said Trump was not being allowed to do his job properly.

He dismissed outrage over Trump's disclosures as United States politicians whipping up "anti-Russian sentiment".

"What surprises me is that they are shaking up the domestic political situation using anti-Russian slogans".

Putin dismissed the US politicians, whom he did not identify, as either being "stupid" or "dangerous and unscrupulous" who are wittingly "causing the damage to their own country".

Israel is one of the United States' most important allies and runs one of the most active espionage networks in the Middle East. Mr. Trump's boasting about some of Israel's most sensitive information to the Russians could damage the relationship between the two countries and raises the possibility that the information could be passed to Iran, Russia's close ally and Israel's main threat in the region.

The administration spent the first half of Tuesday defending Trump's disclosure of classified information to senior Russian officials.

The Prime Minister did not give a direct endorsement of the USA president when asked if she had full confidence in him, instead focusing on the relationship between the two countries.
