ACLU Files to Get Comey's Memo on Trump Conversation

At a press conference Wednesday, US Speaker of the House Paul Ryan declared "we need the facts" and recommended a further investigation into recent matters regarding the US presidency as part of an "an obligation to carry out our oversight, regardless of which party is in the White House". For example, Kenneth Starr, who investigated former president Bill Clinton, probed allegations surrounding his past real estate deals but later expanded the inquiry into Clinton's relations with then-White House intern Monica Lewinsky, leading to an impeachment of Clinton by the House.

Republican lawmakers began yesterday with rising concerns about the latest revelations that a memo by Mr Comey indicates that Mr Trump pressured him and that Mr Trump disclosed highly classified information to Russian officials in the Oval Office last month.

The White House has played down the importance and secrecy of the information Mr Trump gave to the Russians, which had been supplied by Israel under an intelligence-sharing agreement. Timothy Simons said the unnamed official "has GOTTA be" Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and one of his senior advisors. Yet U.S. allies and some members of Congress have expressed alarm.

Republicans and Democrats alike were eager to hear from Mr Comey, who has increasingly emerged as a central figure in the unfolding drama.

The Senate intelligence committee today asked Comey to appear before the panel in both open and closed sessions.

The statement also said the panel had asked Andrew McCabe, the acting FBI director, to send any notes or other memos prepared by Comey about communications he may have had with senior White House and Department of Justice officials in relation to the investigation into Russian Federation and the 2016 election.

Trump later told news anchors at the White House that Mueller's appointment was a "very, very negative thing", adding: "I believe it hurts our country terribly, because it shows we're a divided, mixed-up, not-unified country". Turkey has been a staunch opponent of the US working with Kurdish forces in the region.

Comey was "very unpopular with most people", Trump said, adding that he had thought firing him would be more popular among the Democrats, who have accused the Federal Bureau of Investigation director of helping Hillary Clinton lose the 2016 presidential election.

"We're going to have a lot of great success over the next coming years and we want to get as many to help fight terrorism as possible". Adversity makes you stronger.

The New York Times reported on Thursday that Trump called Comey weeks after he took office on January 20 and asked him when federal authorities were going to say Trump was not under investigation.

The Liberal Democrats said a system is needed that supports farmers, ensures food production, and protects the environment. That's why I was really pleased that we had such a strong performance here in North Cornwall in the local elections.

Two days later, Flynn's lawyer and transition lawyers discussed the investigation of Flynn.

"You already knew the media was out to get us", it said.

Republican House Judiciary Committee chairperson Bob Goodlatte said he was confident Mueller "will conduct a thorough and fair investigation".

USA stocks recovered ground on Thursday as upbeat economic data emboldened investors to return to the market, a day after Wall Street saw the biggest selloff in eight months on worries the political turmoil could undermine Trump initiatives such as tax cuts that investors see as favoring economic growth. The existence of the memo was first reported Tuesday by The New York Times.

The White House vigorously denied it all.

When news broke this week of the Comey memo on Trump's alleged interference in the Flynn investigation, Fox News commentator Charles Krauthammer said he found it "really stunning that nobody, not even from the White House, has come out under their own name in defense of the president here".

Flynn left his post in February after media reports that he misled the vice president about his contacts with Russian Federation. Trump released a statement, saying there was "no collusion between my campaign and any foreign entity".

Warner would not say if Comey accepted the invitation. "Memos, transcripts, tapes - the list keeps getting longer", he said.

"I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go". "He is a good guy".
