Four militants killed on LoC: Army

Why Is The Kashmir Conflict So Long Lasting

India Today reported an army statement which said that the army had received specific input about the movement of the terrorists after which they set up an ambush at around 7.30 pm on Friday.

A day earlier, the army had foiled a similar attempt in Uri sector, adjacent to Rampur.

Indian army soldiers patrol near the site of a gunbattle at Saimoh village, in Tral area, about 45 Kilometres south of Srinagar, Indian controlled Kashmir, Saturday, May 27, 2017.

Stressing upon the need for the global community to resolve the issue, he said that the "international community should take notice of Indian atrocities in Kashmir".

Leo Varadkar likely to become Ireland's first openly gay prime minister
Following the declarations so far from TDs, senators and MEPs, Mr Varadkar has more than 40% support compared to Mr Coveney's 17%. But in many ways, he represents a generational shift to a more secular society, particularly in Dublin and other urban areas.

The gunbattle erupted after a group of heavily armed militants crossed from the Pakistani-controlled part of Kashmir into the Indian-held portion in western Rampur sector, said army spokesman Col. Rajesh Kalia. Simultaneously, a BAT action was launched on a patrol operating in between the two posts. The defence experts praised this move and said it will break the myth of the supremacy of the Pakistani BAT. A week ago, on May 21, troops deployed in Nowgam sector, killed four terrorists, foiling a major infiltration attempt. "Those who have chose to confer the award have done no good to Indian Army or people of India but widened the gulf between them and the people of Jammu and Kashmir".

The adviser said, "India has banned the social, electronic and print media to prevent reports of brutalities against Kashmiris from reaching the outside world". The Border Action Team (BAT) is notorious for sneaking into the Indian side, planting mines and ambushing soldiers in hard terrains.

The infiltration of terrorists has increased this year and over 200 militants are waiting along the LoC for sneaking into Kashmir. These terrorists mostly infiltrated from Keran, Gurez, Machil and Nowgam sectors.
