Chilling Confession Leads To Child's Body

Coroner: Nevada woman says child's body in Illinois garage

He and his wife hid her body because they were afraid authorities would take their two older girls, who are now 13 and 11, he said.

Any charges related to the girl's death would be filed in IL, where investigators found a child's remains in the detached garage of a dilapidated, boarded-up home in an impoverished community just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. The woman's husband, Jason Scott Quate, 34, is jailed in Las Vegas.

A woman who says she was sex trafficked in Las Vegas has led authorities to the body of a child in a vacant IL home, according to CBS affiliate KLAS.

Authorities from IL plan to travel to Las Vegas, but it's unclear if Quate will be extradited to face murder charges for reportedly killing his 6-year-old daughter in 2013. She was arrested Thursday on a fugitive warrant out of St. Clair County for a 2013 forgery case in which prosecutors said she violated her probation. He faces prostitution-related charges and is due in court Friday to answer a criminal complaint filed Thursday charging him with felony sex trafficking and living from the earnings of a prostitute. The mother reportedly told investigators Quate had sexually abused their two teen daughters. He told the Post-Dispatch that he had lied to the TV station and that his wife had come up with the adoption story after their daughter died.

He repeatedly referred to the event as "the frightful".

She says she only met the youngest of three daughters one time when she was still an infant. He said they kept the girl's body in their home in Belleville, Illinois, for some time. Belleville police said in a statement that a team of officers was sent to Las Vegas to coordinate the investigation.

Trump Wants Expanded Travel Ban Following London Terrorist Attack
But Trump's latest comments undercut his own team, and have lawyers sharpening their knives for a possible Supreme Court showdown. Trump's call for a ban also is not in keeping with American values and it "exceeds the president's authority", Cardin also said.

The dead child was found in the detached garage of a dilapidated, boarded-up home in Centreville, an impoverished community just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis.

The family moved to Las Vegas two years ago.

The children exhibited signs of abuse and neglect and were taken into protective custody.

He's accused of abusing his two young children and forcing his wife into sex trafficking for at least two years.

The woman is jailed in Las Vegas as a fugitive on a warrant filed in IL. Police in Las Vegas and Centreville didn't immediately return messages from The Associated Press. She has not been charged with a crime in Las Vegas. No charges have been filed in IL, either, though a homicide investigation continues. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and several others report that the child was six, while other outlets say the child was seven years old. The wife was charged in March 2015 in St. Clair County with a retail theft case that was later dismissed.
