'Not specified' gender option set for OR driver licenses

Oregon Officially Debuts Third Gender for Driver's Licenses

The state Senate passed a bill which, similarly to the OR legislation, would allow people to choose a third gender on official forms. The state of California in the midst of passing the Gender Recognition Act, a large piece of legislation that seeks to streamline the legal processes for gender changes, including giving residents the ability to choose a similar "X" option on identification documents like driver's licenses.

The rule was inspired by Portland resident Jamie Shupe, an army veteran who became the first American to legally change their gender to non-binary, thanks to a ruling by an OR circuit court previous year.

Right in the middle of Pride month, OR just made a huge move to support non-binary people.

The DMV said the new rule, which the commission passed unanimously, came about after a Multnomah County judge in June 2016 allowed Jamie Shupe, a Portland resident, to legally change to "non-binary" gender.

Gender binary is history-in the West Coast, at least.

Elderly warned to stop taking common cure all
The people aged over 75 are at higher risk of stomach bleed but the risk can be prevented by taking PPIs along with aspirin. They also warn that stopping aspirin suddenly (for those who have been taking it regularly) could have some complications.

"Gender identity refers to a person's internal sense of being male, female, or something else", according to the American Psychological Association.

Almost one-third of transgender people who showed an ID with a name or gender that did not match their perceived gender reported harassment, discrimination or assault, according to a 2015 survey of more than 20,000 people in all states. "And then I'll no doubt stand out front of the building, or sit in the vehicle, and cry", they told Reuters. My gender identity has never been male, but I feel like I have to own up to my male biology. Several countries, including Canada, India, Australia, New Zealand, Nepal and Bangladesh have acknowledged the need to recognize non-binary genders for years.

"There's a little more truth and justice in the world today", said Hayley Gorenberg, deputy legal director of Lambda Legal, the oldest and largest national legal organization that advocates for the civil rights of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender people. "I'm a mixture of both", Shupe said.

Activists hope an "X" gender designation is on the way in other states, and eventually, for US passports. The state Senate is considering a bill that would allow residents to identify as non-binary on all official state issued documents, including birth certificates.

Last year, intersex activist and Navy veteran Dana Zzyym sued the federal government for the right to choose a third gender on their passport.
