It said alternative sources for construction materials had been secured.

The Trump administration's position was clouded further this week when the Defense Department announced that Qatar would sign a $12 billion deal to buy as many as 36 F-15 jets from the U.S. Boeing, the prime contractor on the sale, declined to comment.

"The time had come to call on Qatar to end its funding - they have to end that funding - and its extremist ideology in terms of funding", he added.

"In one instance, a Saudi man died in Qatar".

The Republic of The Gambia therefore calls on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the United Nations, the OIC, the Arab League and all men and women of people goodwill to conjugate efforts to bring about a speedy resolution to the impasse between Qatar and her neighbours so that normalcy could once again reign in the region.

"The United Arab Emirates" ambassador wants President Trump to remove the US airbase from Qatar. The forward headquarters of U.S. Central Command and the staging area for much of the war against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq are based near Doha, the country's capital. Qatar hosts the vitally important Al Udeid airbase, where some 10,000 United States troops reside.

On Friday, the Turkish foreign minister arrived in Saudi Arabia for talks with King Salman. "So good to see the Saudi Arabia visit with the King and 50 countries already paying off", Trump tweeted.

On a broader level, Trump is said to believe the USA shouldn't try to solve problems for Middle Eastern countries and should instead let "the natural order play itself out", as one official put it.

You would be forgiven for thinking the US backs Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in their current standoff against Qatar. They discussed enhanced cooperation and coordination, especially to counter the increased threat from terrorist organisations and to deter those who support, finance and shelter them, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Qatar's index, beaten down by the economic sanctions by other Gulf Arab states, rebounded 0.4 percent on Wednesday in a broad-based rally; 23 stocks gained and only seven dropped.

Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said Friday that a list of violations committed by Qatar, which caused the current rift, will soon be revealed to the public. The isolation imposed on Qatar is a continuation of the United States policy of isolation of the main rival, Iran, which will remain a rival in the future.

The missions also reaffirmed their willingness to continue working with the concerned parties to maintain security, to combat terrorism and to safeguard the stability and well-being of the people of the region, including the Qatari people, in full respect for their human rights' and worldwide humanitarian law's commitments, the statement added.
