58 missing, presumed dead in London fire : London police

It is feared many are trapped inside the blazing building as the fire broke out in the wee hours of Wednesday. Grief over a high-rise tower blaze that killed dozens of p.

There is no way that rich people would be living in a building without adequate fire safety.

British authorities are launching a criminal investigation into the London apartment building fire - as the death toll from the blaze has almost doubled, to 30.

The fire in the block in west London burned for hours, and authorities fear that the official death toll of 30 is likely to rise, with numerous dead unlikely ever to be identified.

Asked if there were angry exchanges, Tomlin said: "We tried to hold it well as a meeting".

Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Cundy says police will seek criminal prosecutions if the evidence warrants. Community groups have said that warnings about poor fire safety have always been ignored, and that in the aftermath of the disaster, officials failed to immediately take care of those affected.

"We're all desperately sad, we're all angry, but of course none of us as angry as those who were directly affected, " Green said.

"It really devastated me", he said. London Police's investigation remains on-going, as fire crews continue the grim and slow task of identifying and recovering bodies from inside the tower. The building had been home to a diverse group of residents, many of them from Sudan, Eritrea and Syria. More than 70 people remain unaccounted for, reported The Telegraph.

UK Trade Minister Greg Hands said the government was carrying out an "urgent inspection" of the roughly 2500 similar tower blocks across Britain to assess their safety.

British Prime Minister Theresa May is facing mounting pressure to resign due to her handling of the situation and tensions have been heightened by her failure to meet with victims in the immediate aftermathof the tragedy.

They have to use Apple's official API, which allows users to provided a rating from 1-5 stars without actually leaving the app. Under the new rules, developers will no longer be able to display review prompts however and whenever they'd like.

May announced on Friday that her government has set up a £5 million ($8.4 million Cdn) "discretionary fund" to help pay for food, clothing, personal supplies and funerals.

Some victims may never be identified. They have have not been seen since the fire.

Police said they are using the INTERPOL Disaster Victim Identification Standards to identify the deceased. This relies on dental records, fingerprints and DNA when possible and also features like tattoos or scars.

The tragedy cast a pall on the Trooping the Color festivities that mark the official birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.

"It is hard to escape a very somber national mood", Elizabeth said in a message.

May herself had come in for a barrage of criticism for failing to visit residents and her response to the disaster.

Anger boiled over on Friday as people stormed Kensington & Chelsea Town Hall.

The cause of the massive blaze is still under investigation, but anger has mounted in the community amid reports that the rain-screen cladding on the exterior of Grenfell Tower may have spread the flames. Survivors of the building claim that cheap materials for the cladding and a lack of maintenance on the building were to blame for the fatal fire.

The tragedy has provoked a big response from nearby communities that have donated food and shelter to the victim.
