Top Yankees prospect Gleyber Torres out for season win injured elbow

Gleyber Torres

Torres was diagnosed Monday with a torn UCL in his left elbow after meeting with a physician and will require season-ending Tommy John surgery.

After a slide into home plate, Mr. Torres was placed on minor league disabled list with a hyperextended left elbow. Torres was seen by Yankees team physician Christopher Ahmad in NY, where the torn UCL was revealed. (He's also committed the second-most errors of any Major League third baseman this year.) Many in the industry have expected the Yankees' improvement to come from within, thanks to top prospect Gleyber Torres.

Vice President Mike Pence hires outside counsel in Russia probe
His decision to hire Cullen seems wise, as this investigation shows no signs of losing steam anytime soon. Cullen also served as the attorney general of Virginia and as a USA attorney under President George H.W.

Baseball adopted the anti-collision rule ahead of the 2014 season. "And every time I see a guy slide headfirst, I cringe, just because you worry about the hands, you worry about the shoulders".

Torres, who was at Class A when the Yankees acquired him, began this season at Class AA Trenton, where he hit.273 with five home runs and an.863 on-base-plus-slugging percentage, before advancing to Class AAA on May 22. "He's going to miss 300 at-bats, or whatever is it". To me, it's not a huge setback. "It's frustrating for him and all of us because you wanted to see him play and continue to develop", Girardi said. Losing an entire season to injury will certainly set his development back, though, and so the Yankees will have to go on being a really good team for a little while longer while they wait for their potential star shortstop to make his debut. The Yankees have lost starting pitcher C. C. Sabathia (hamstring) for about six weeks, and reliever Adam Warren (shoulder), catcher Gary Sanchez (groin) and outfielder Aaron Hicks (heel) have all sustained injuries.
