Valley Children's Hospital makes top 50 national rankings in three specialties

Big recognition: Pittsburgh's Children's Hospital named among top pediatrics hospitals in US

Boston Children's Hospital is still the best pediatric hospital in the country, according to the latest rankings from U.S. News and World Report.

Leading the way was New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley-Komansky Children's Hospital, which landed in the top rankings in all 10 specialties, the findings released Tuesday show. The hospital also has the region's only Level IV neonatal intensive care unit, which means it meets the highest standards set by the Academy of Pediatrics.

This story will be updated.

"Once again, our care team members at the Children's Hospital have another source of validation for the excellent care they are delivering to our patients and their families every day", said Patrick J. Cawley, M.D., MUSC Health CEO and university vice president for health affairs. Only one hospital on the 2017-18 list, Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore at No. 5, was not on the Top 10 list the previous year.

The U.S. News and World Report just released its picks for the best children's hospitals in the country, and Boston's Children's Hospital was named the best pediatric hospital in the United States for the fifth year in a row.

Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC ranked ninth on the honor roll list with rankings in all 10 specialties.

The pediatric centers ranked in Best Children's Hospitals deliver exceptional care and deserve to be recognized for their commitment, says Avery Comarow, health rankings editor for U.S. News.

UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, which is located in the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, has been consistently recognized for broad excellence since the Best Children's Hospitals rankings were introduced in 2007.
