Apple considering reimbursing customers who paid $79 for battery replacement

Apple has previously gone into some detail about its decision, and today's response also provided a timeline of its actions.

Reuters similarly reports that Apple had began throttling performance of iPhones in January of 2017, but did not disclose that it was doing so until February of 2017.

Apple is considering offering a partial refund to customers who paid full price to replace their ageing iPhone batteries. Rather than $79 to switch out the smartphone's old battery for a new one, it would charge just $29.

In a statement last week, Apple said it had "received questions from some government agencies" and was duly responding to them. Apple states it will update the senate committee at some point in the future when it decides how to handle these cases.

To quell backlash, Apple gave a public apology and said that it would offer discounted battery replacements to iPhone 6 and 6s owners.

If you have an Apple Developer account, you can check out the solution the company has baked right into its upcoming iOS 11.3 release. New Android malware found MORE (D-N.J.) sent a letter to Apple also probing its battery issue. "And maybe we should have been clearer, as well".

The growing number of complaints about iPhone X's phone call issue on Apple's support forum was first highlighted by The Financial Times and it appears from the reports that this issue first surfaced in December.

The committee on Industry Science and Technology, of which Masse is also vice chair, will invite Apple officials and stakeholders to Ottawa to discuss the impact the battery slowdown has had on Canadian consumers. "In those conversations, Apple has acknowledged that its initial disclosures came up short". Thune says Apple will follow up with additional information at a future date.

Its software and services division saw revenue rise 18% year-on-year to US$8.5bn, while sales of other products such as its AirPods earphones and Apple Watch jumped by 50%. "Yes, we are exploring this and will update you accordingly", Hogan wrote. Drexel Hamilton reissued a "buy" rating and set a $202.00 price objective on shares of Apple in a research note on Thursday, July 6th. It will likely cause customers to continue to question how much they can trust Apple to be transparent about new hardware and software features.
