Pakistan cricket legend turned opposition stalwart Imran Khan claims victory

Elections agency says Imran Khan won Pakistan's election, but needs a coalition

Imran Khan said on Monday that he will take oath as Prime Minister on August 11, as his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced that it has acquired enough seats in the lower house through coalition talks to form a majority government. Sooner or later, but probably later, the new prime minister will also realize that the robust "new Pakistan" that he has promised his voters will need him to complete the structural reforms that his predecessors have left unfinished.

It was after these calculations that the PTI leadership has now made a decision to reach out to other smaller groups and independents since the party has already declared that it will not join hands with the PPP and the PML-N, the daily said.

PTI has emerged the victor of parliamentary elections with 116 seats, with the previous ruling party Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) obtaining just 64 seats.

Officials from Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), or Pakistan Movement for Justice, party said they were in talks with independents and at least one other political party to form a coalition government.

The former World Cup winning cricketer, 65, was announced the victor of Pakistan's general election on Friday despite a delayed vote count provoking accusations of rigging.

Khan-led PTI is still short of numbers to form the government on its own.

A 0.8 micron pixel size might seem small and less efficient in capturing the entire light information, especially in low light. The enhanced MP count should give smartphone uses the ability to take SLR-quality images with lossless digital zoom.

"We have a lot of hopes for the new government".

The PTI's election manifesto has said that they will "work on a blueprint towards resolving the Kashmir issue within the parameters of UNSC resolutions. This is important for the sub-continent", Khan had said.

"We aspire to a regional order - independent nations that can defend their people and compete fairly in the global marketplace", Pompeo said during a speech on the Indo-Pacific region on July 30.

The development of strong democratic and civilian institutions of governance and a vibrant civil society is critical to Pakistan's long-term stability and prosperity, US State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert said in the first official US statement since the general elections in Pakistan on Wednesday. I say "finally" because the election commission managed to add to widespread concerns about the elections by inexplicably delaying its announcement of the outcome. "We will not allow democracy to be taken hostage by the establishment", he said, using a word widely understood in Pakistan to mean the military.

"I'm very happy with the change because we have to give a chance to new people in order to make the change", she said.

With Khan as Pakistan's leader, one can only hope the bilateral sporting relations between the two countries will improve in the near future.
