Army of Central Americans pushes into Mexico headed for U.S. border

A migrant caravan making its way to the USA border from Central America crossed into Mexico this weekend amid ongoing threats by President Trump.

The President, in his tweets, also made several questionable claims concerning immigration and the caravan. "If he doesn't repent, he's going to hell".

His comments come as the US -bound caravan of thousands of mostly Honduran migrants began moving into Mexico Sunday, shadowed by hundreds of Mexican police en route to the border city of Tapachula.

"No one is capable of organizing this many people", Mujica said, adding that there are only two forces driving them: "hunger and death".

President Trump also expressed disappoint with Mexico's government for failing to block thousands of migrants headed toward the USA border.

Mexican President-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador suggested Sunday that the United States, Canada and Mexico work out a joint plan for funding development in the poor areas of Central America and southern Mexico.

He went on to tweet that illegal immigration in the U.S. is due to Democrats "not giving us the votes to change our pathetic immigration laws!"

"I will seal off the border before they come into this country and I'll bring out our military, not our reserves". Meanwhile, American flags were burned in Honduras in support of the caravan while U.S. President Donald Trump followed through on a threat and cut aid to Central American countries. Many migrants said they were fleeing a toxic mix of violence, poverty and corruption in Central America.

Mexican ambassador makes a stunning accusation about migrant caravan from Honduras
And he threatened to send troops to "shut down" the southern US border if Mexico failed to stop what he called an "onslaught". Any who decide to cross illegally and are caught will be detained and deported, the Mexican government has said.

Mexican authorities have called on them to formally register their presence in the country so that they can be processed for asylum.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Mexican officials on Friday, and the president at times last week praised Mexican efforts to keep migrants from advancing past Guatemala.

President Donald Trump on Monday tweeted that he is "substantially" cutting American aid to Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador over a migrant caravan headed toward the United States. "Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in", Trump tweeted Monday. "If that happens, and if that continues to move forward, the caravan we're talking about", Trump said.

The approaching caravan has set off alarm bells within the Trump administration amid fears that subversive elements were using the migrants to further a criminal agenda.

The caravan of migrants now traveling through Mexico on its way to the United States is a job for the United Nations, says the spokesman for a pro-border enforcement organization.

With Mexico's immigration authorities controlling migration more assiduously, Central Americans were forced to take more isolated, risky routes where the chances of being mugged were higher.

But thanks to court rulings and generous USA laws, it's easy to make an unworthy claim, and migrants making those claims are usually released into the interior of the US, where they disappear into the shadows with an estimated 11 million other illegal immigrants.

The president also said that Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras will have their "massive" foreign aid reduced.
