Rome metro station escalator goes haywire, injuring riders

An injured person is seen outside the underground where some of CSKA Moscow supporters were injured in Rome Italy

CSKA Moscow is due to play against AS Roma in the Champions League later on Tuesday and hundreds of its supporters were on the move to reach the Olympic stadium.

Fire brigade spokesman Luca Cari said that the cause of the accident is still being investigated and that one person was seriously injured.

A video shown on Sky TG24 shows the escalator accelerating suddenly, and the people riding down on it collapsing one onto another.

Many fans sustained cuts to their legs by shattered metal and glass.

The Patriots match-up with the Chiefs was seen as a battle of the master against the apprentice with Brady facing Mahomes. Brady and Mahomes wished each other well at midfield after Stephen Gostkowski 's 28-yard field goal decided the game.

Twenty people have been injured after an escalator malfunctioned and rapidly sped downward at a Rome metro station, leaving passengers in a jumble at the bottom, Italian officials say.

"A group of CSKA fans were going down into the station".

Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi visited the metro station and said the local transport authority had opened an investigation.

Italy's La Repubblica newspaper claimed that the escalator might've broken down because the Russian fans were jumping on its steps as they chanted in support of their team.
