Saudi Crown Prince Meets Egyptian President in Cairo

Republican Sen. Mike Lee: ‘Next Congress’ Will Likely ‘Look Into’ Motive Behind Trump’s Decision-Making On Saudi Arabia

The killing of Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist and a critic of the crown prince, has strained Saudi Arabia's ties with the West.

"MBS contributed to murdering somebody overseas and it is not strength to sort of mumble past that", Sasse told "Fox News Sunday", referring to the crown prince.

"This is the first such project in the kingdom", Said al-Shahrani noted, adding that Riyadh wants to diversify the sources of the country's income and reduce its dependence on oil thus speeding up the country's economic development.

From Tunisia, Prince Mohammed is due to travel to the G20 summit in Argentina on Friday, where many world leaders are dreading the prospect of public meetings with the embattled heir to the throne.

Prince Mohammed kicked off his Arab tour on Thursday by visiting the United Arab Emirates.

After initially denying knowledge of the journalist's whereabouts, the Saudi authorities later admitted that Khashoggi had in fact been killed inside the consulate, albeit by rogue Saudi agents. His remains have yet to be found.

During the segment, Todd asked Lee about the Trump administration's position on Saudi Arabia in light of the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Despite the global outrage sparked by Khashoggi's killing, the crown prince has been emboldened in recent days by Trump's vocal support for him.

That seems to have settled the matter for Trump, who issued an extraordinary statement last week saying the U.S. would not take further action after sanctioning 17 individuals linked to the killing.

"The submission also highlights his possible complicity in serious allegations of torture and other ill treatment of Saudi citizens, including the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi", the rights group said in a statement.

Graham also said this: "It's important that we back up the intel community if we think they're right".

"Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's answer was "'Let's see'", Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu tells a German newspaper.

He added: "There will be a lot happening" on Saudi Arabia.

"In our show we tried to establish the crimes committed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia". "And Mohammed bin Salman should know that he may face a criminal probe if he ventures to Argentina".

Prince Mohammed is expected to visit Tunisia on Tuesday as part of his tour of several Arab states.

The prince is reportedly still expected to attend the summit.

"The CIA is not necessarily the highest standard of veracity or accuracy in assessing situations", Prince Turki al-Faisal, a senior member of the royal family, has told journalists in Abu Dhabi.

In addition to the horror the kingdom has inflicted on Yemen at the direction of the crown prince, who serves as the Saudi defense minister, the case of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi-born USA resident who was killed by Saudi agents last month, could factor into potential Argentine charges against MbS as well.

"At such a time when it becomes necessary, the president also needs to speak directly to the Saudis and say enough's enough, " Ernst said. "I'm delighted Tunisians are standing up to him".

Still, it remains to be seen whether a wider circle of advisers will be consulted, whether they will challenge the crown prince and whether he will listen to them. "I believe this is an opportunity for the Congress to weigh in and say, 'Let's halt our efforts in Yemen'".
