Is Ahmadinejad Helping His Case?

WASHINGTON (Politically Illustrated) – Does Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sound sane? On Tuesday, Mr. Ahmadinejad vowed to "cut the hands" of Iran's enemies upon a military attack on Iran.

“We will welcome a hand which has sincerely reached out for friendship, but if anywhere in the world a hand is extended for aggression against Iranians, the nation will cut it from the arm,” said Mr. Ahmadinejad, reported by the AFP.

The comments come as Iran detained Abdolmalek Rigi, a Sunni militant leader after speculation he visited an American military base in Afghanistan. The United States has called the capture “totally bogus.” Hillary Clinton has labeled Iran as a becoming “military dictatorship.”

“No power can harm Iran… The Iranian nation will chop off the hands from the arm of any attacker from any part of the world,” said Mr. Ahmadinejad.

The comments seem awkward as the United States and other Western powers deal with the provocative leadership in Iran.
