“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times,” her status read, after landing in Russia on July 9, a similar line to Charles Dickens’ classic “A Tale of Two Cities.”
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along,’” read another status update on July 14, which is a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt.
Ms. Chapman has been busy adding friends and “liking” supportive comments left on her wall, including “I miss you here in the Big Apple.”
Ms. Chapman’s U.S. and UK passport has been revoked.
“She’s particularly upset at the rejection by the United Kingdom… it was disappointing to learn she can’t go back,” her attorney told The Daily Mail.
According to media reports, she is shopping her story for a $250,000 book and movie deal.
“She can tell her story but if she makes money on it, the U.S. government is going to try and seize the profits.”
