Those 10 Americans in Haiti Are Doing Better After Being Released from Jail

WASHINGTON (Politically Illustrated) – How are those 10 Americans in Haiti? Good. A Haitian judge cleared Jim Allen and nine other Americans being held after trafficking 30 children after a devastated earthquake ravished the nation.

Mr. Allen, a principle member of the group, is still being jailed in Haiti indefinitely while others are free to return to America.

“We are heartened by today’s timely actions by Haitian Judge Bernard Saint-Vil. We hope the prosecutor and other senior Haitian officials will now quickly conclude that Jim Allen should be released. It is the right and humane thing to do. Jim Allen came to Haiti to help, and did so in good faith. It is now time to bring Jim home,” said a statement by the legal team behind their release.

A coordinated effort is being launched to “bring Jim home” by the Liberty Legal Institute (LLI), a non-profit legal organization committed to the defense of constitutional rights. LLI has established a website encouraging people to help Mr. Allen at: http://www.bringjimhome.com.

“No one benefits when relief volunteers languish in prison for weeks on end under conditions that are, at best, difficult. Haitian and U.S. officials must bring this misunderstanding to a prompt end so that Americans and Haitians can return to the important task of relief and rebuilding,” read a statement by the Liberty Legal Institute.
